Aggressive treatment of high blood pressure may help reduce dementia risk, but this may cause other harms such as falls in frailer older people. This trial will randomise such people to intensive vs non-intensive blood pressure control. These data will help calculate the necessary study size from the known event rate of the outcomes (both benefits and harms) listed.
